Xi’an, China (15 October 2024) – In a significant step toward enhancing global cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Institute for Overseas Safety and Security (OSS) at the International Collaboration Mechanism Center at NTS-PD, Zheijian University, and the South Asia Foresight Network (SAFN) in Washington, D.C., have agreed to establish a dedicated BRI Center at SAFN in Washington, D.C.

The initiative was officially launched following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between OSS and SAFN on 17 October 2023 in Beijing. The BRI Center in Washington, D.C., aims to serve as a hub for disseminating the latest research data on China's Belt and Road Initiative, highlighting its valuable contributions to numerous nations across continents.

The establishment of the BRI Center marks a significant milestone in fostering high-quality BRI collaboration through comprehensive research and the sharing of critical information. The agreement to set up the Center was signed by Asanga Abeyagoonasekera, Executive Director of SAFN, and Dr. Zhou Zhanggui, Director of the Institute for Overseas Safety and Security (OSS), at the Xi’an International Convention Center (XICC) on 15 October 2024.

This collaborative venture aims to support the BRI's long-term success by advancing understanding and encouraging international cooperation, ultimately benefiting the global community through shared knowledge and strategic partnerships.
