About ICNWP

Founded in Thailand in 2017, the ICNWP convened its tenth session this year. The conference is by invitation only, bringing together renowned political figures, scholars, think?tank representatives, and leaders from the public, private, and civil society sectors. Over the past decade, more than 5,000 participants from over 60 countries have taken part in this annual international event.

Theme of the 2026 Conference

This year’s theme was: “In a contemporary world with increasingly blurred moral boundaries, explore ways to achieve inner peace, social cohesion, and sustainable harmony between humanity and nature through ethical reflection, cross?cultural dialogue, and the rebuilding of collective responsibility.

Against the backdrop of global moral confusion, rampant extreme individualism, eroding trust, and the shifting of environmental responsibility, the conference sought to address these challenges by integrating perspectives from peace studies, human development, and ethics, and to promote a shared consensus on values and long?term pathways to peace.

Dr. Zhou’s Keynote Speech

Dr. Zhou Zhanggui delivered a speech entitled “From Moral Chaos to Peaceful Coexistence: Achieving Global Good Governance through Rebuilding Trust, Dialogue, and Shared Responsibility.” He reviewed the current difficulties facing multilateral actions and mechanisms in the Asia?Pacific region, analysed the commonalities and points of conflict among the core values of different civilisational blocs, and shared insights on the philosophy behind the four global initiativesdevelopment, security, civilisation, and governance—as well as cases of international collaboration that advance the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind. He argued that real?world conflicts are external manifestations of underlying value clashes, and that in a world of moral ambiguity and fragmented values, rebuilding trust and promoting shared responsibility through dialogue are essential to achieving peaceful and effective governance.

Representatives from various advisory bodies under the Mechanism exchanged views on strengthening regional collaboration among advisory institutions. They also reviewed the annual secretariat work plan and key collaborative projects. The meeting further agreed to leverage existing multi?stakeholder forums to enhance sustainable development capacity?building and project implementation in the Asia?Pacific and ASEAN regions, in coordination with UN regional agencies based in Thailand, other international organisations, NGOs, and partner advisory units.
